Last year I worked with American writer Gordon Brewer on the comic book series called Creepsi Twisted Tales.
I worked on the first 4 issues drawing horror stories written by Brewer.

Creepsi Twisted Tales is a monthly horror series with an eerie world of corrupt souls and strange creatures that lurk in the shadows. Issue #1 contains an ongoing tale titled "Circuit Rider". Mose Harper is a bounty hunter and preacher tracking a gang of ghouls in the Old West. The complete short story, "A Look in the Mirror", reveals the curse behind a stolen mirror that predicts the future.

And today I will show part of the process of one of these stories: A LOOK IN THE MIRROR.
The first step was to create the look of the protagonist. Malik is homeless, lives in San Francisco and finds a magic mirror that helps him get along in life.

After defining the character design, i created drafts for the story cover. I needed to pass the anguish of the character and show the mirror.

Image two was chosen and some changes happened during the process. Here are some versions up to the published cover.

FINAL COVER

After developing the character and the cover, I started making the pages of the comic. my process is simple: After reading the script, I sketch thumbnails of the pages (I did it in an old sketchbook, but I don't have the images), after the thumbnails are approved, I make more detailed sketches and then I finish with inks.

For this work I used shades of gray for some shadows, I worked only using photoshop.
The story has 11 pages, I worked about 20 days on them, but
the whole process took 1 month.
It was quite interesting working with Gordon and it was my first horror comic. This wasn't my favorite genre at the time, but it introduced me to a new and captivating world.
Today I have been working with authorial horror stories and I intend to publish them independently soon.
To the next!
